About the PUMP Act

Know Your Rights

The PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act expands workplace protections for breastfeeding employees.

Indiana Code 16-35-6 (2003): Allows a woman to breastfeed her child anywhere the law allows her to be.

Employers must provide:

  • A clean, private, non-bathroom space for expressing milk.
  • Reasonable break time to pump as needed.
