Lactation in the Workplace
Protecting mothers and infants through the PUMP Act.
Know Your Rights
The PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act expands workplace protections for breastfeeding employees.
Indiana Code 16-35-6 (2003): Allows a woman to breastfeed her child anywhere the law allows her to be.
Employers must provide:
- A clean, private, non-bathroom space for expressing milk.
- Reasonable break time to pump as needed.
Educational content only—not legal advice.
